Daron Watts practices at the crossroads of law and public policy, providing strategic counsel to clients facing complex challenges which involve government regulation and public policy. His work often involves regulatory policy, legislation, Congressional Investigations and frequently requires coordination of positions in different arenas, including various branches of government and jurisdictions. Mr. Watts began practicing in the firm’s Los Angeles office in 1994, focusing on complex commercial litigation. After expanding his practice to include government regulation and policy, he split time between our LA and Washington, D.C. offices for 10 years, before relocating to Washington, D.C. in 2010 to start Sidley’s Government Strategies practice. His practice has focused primarily on representing innovators in the life sciences and technology industries facing complex business challenges on multiple fronts.
As he counsels clients regarding the development and execution of coordinated strategies across branches and levels of government and works with leading policymakers, Mr. Watts’ multidisciplinary experience adds unique perspective regarding the manner in which various institutions interrelate to impact law and policy. In 2008, Mr. Watts was named to the Daily Journal’s “Top 20 under 40,” which recognizes California’s top lawyers under the age of 40.
