Congressional Black Caucus PAC Statement Condemning House Republican Support for Trump Healthcare and Food Assistance Cuts
Washington, D.C. — CBCPAC Chairman Rep. Gregory Meeks released the following statement after House Republicans lined up to pass Trump’s Big Ugly Bill that could rip food assistance from babies and wreck access to healthcare for 14 million Americans all to make the wealthy more wealthy:
“Donald Trump says jump for billionaires and House Republicans say, how high? In the wee hours of the morning, House Republicans voted to rip healthcare away from 14 million Americans, end food assistance for babies and families, and threaten access to already struggling rural and safety-net hospitals all to hand tax cuts to the wealthy. This bill could devastate our communities.
The Congressional Black Caucus and House Democrats will remind everyone, everywhere, everyday between now and Election Day that House Republicans chose a powerful few over me and you.”
