Congressional Black Caucus PAC Statement On Yes Campaign’s Victory, Passage of Virginia Redistricting Referendum

Washington, D.C. — Congressional Black Caucus PAC Chairman Rep. Gregory Meeks released the following statement on passage of Virginia redistricting referendum: 

“Donald Trump and House Republicans have driven up prices on everything from gasoline and groceries to medicine. Instead of delivering for the people, they’ve engaged in a cynical campaign to cling to power by undermining our elections and weakening representation. 

“Thanks to the strategic and determined leadership of Hakeem Jeffries, we are fighting back. Tonight, Virginians of goodwill rejected Trump’s power grab and took another victorious step toward saving our democracy.”
