Washington, D.C. — “Today’s Supreme Court decision in Louisiana v. Callais pulls America back into a dark past where the full representation of all Americans was virtually forbidden by law — and we have Donald Trump and extremist Republicans in Congress and on the Court to thank.

“We believe in a republic where every citizen has a chance to have their voices heard at the ballot box. Americans can be sure the Congressional Black Caucus joins them in the righteous fight for a more just America. We will not be defeated in that pursuit, and the Congressional Black Caucus will fight relentlessly to pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and defend our democracy.”
